Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to the menu plan provided
- Ensure all meals are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards
- Assist with menu planning and suggest new dishes or modifications to existing ones
- Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Coordinate with catering services for special events or functions
- Utilize culinary skills and knowledge to create delicious and visually appealing dishes
- Use knives and other kitchen tools safely and effectively
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen setting
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays if required
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy pots or pans
