School Security Officer [Part Time]

Duties:

• Monitor and manage the front door access to ensure a secure, welcoming environment.
• Assist with orderly and safe arrival and dismissal processes each school day.
• Contribute to morning routines, helping open the school and prepare for the day ahead.
• Conduct regular security checks of the school premises.
• Work closely with school staff to refine and implement safety procedures and emergency response plans.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, reflecting the inclusive and supportive values of Little Water Prep.
• Address and manage security incidents in a professional manner, aligned with school policy.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in school safety and security.Skills:

- Proficient in operating CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment- Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques- Familiarity with loss prevention strategies and techniques- Strong observation skills to detect suspicious activities or behavior- Ability to handle conflicts or difficult situations calmly and professionally- Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and security protocols- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written- Ability to work independently as well as part of a teamRequirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a similar role (Required).
• Valid Security Officer license or certification (Required).
• First Aid and CPR certification (Preferred).

Summary
As a School Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. With core skills in security and conflict management, along with premium skills in first aid, law enforcement, surveillance, CPR, and military experience, you will be well-equipped to handle any security challenges that may arise. Your relevant skills in CCTV and loss prevention will also be valuable in monitoring and preventing security incidents. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, along with certifications in first aid, CPR, and a Guard Card. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with students, staff, and law enforcement personnel. By utilizing your diverse skill set and experience, you will contribute to creating a safe and secure learning environment for all members of the school community.

Part Time Hours:

1:30pm - 5:30pm (Monday- Friday)
