Overview
Little Sunflowers Child Care is seeking a reliable, nurturing, and responsible substitute caregiver to assist in our licensed Group Family Daycare located in Cobleskill, NY.
This position is as-needed to cover staff absences, appointments, training days, or occasional schedule changes. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and helping create a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
Our program cares for children in a warm, home-like setting and focuses on play-based learning, routine, and supporting children's social and emotional development.
**There is potential for this position to grow into a more consistent part-time or full-time opportunity for the right person.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning, creativity, and social skills.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by following health and safety protocols diligently.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and conflict resolution among children.
- Assist with meal times, diapering, nap routines, and other daily caregiving tasks to ensure comfort and well-being.
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment.
- Follow NYS OCFS daycare regulations and safety standards.
- Stay up-to-date on OCFS required trainings.
- Communicate respectfully with the provider, families, and children
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be comfortable caring for infants through school-age children.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexible schedule, as this substitute position can have last-minute schedule changes.
- Ability to pass background check requirements through NYS OCFS
- Dependable, patient, outgoing, bubbly, and nurturing personality.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience working with children
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Early childhood education background
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
