Responsibilities
- Support classroom management by helping organize activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and learning through play
- Assist with supervising children during daily routines such as meal times, naps, outdoor play, and learning activities
- Implement age-appropriate educational programs that encourage curiosity and creativity in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Communicate effectively with children to promote positive behavior management and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with lead teachers to monitor developmental milestones and document observations for parent updates
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports effective learning and caregiving practices
- Support special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate children with disabilities or additional support requirements
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with classroom experience or managing groups of young children in a structured setting
- Familiarity with toddler care, preschool activities, and classroom management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is advantageous; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Understanding of working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to handle behavior management effectively while maintaining a positive environment
