Assistant Teacher

Job Overview

Little Sprouts Childcare Center is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Supporting Caregiver to assist in fostering children's development within a safe and nurturing environment. This role focuses on supporting the Caregiver by engaging in play-based activities and helping to tailor experiences to meet each child's unique needs. The Supporting Caregiver would start on our main floor in "The Village" (6 weeks to 36 months) with our current cohort of children. Our program does a form of looping, staying with the same group of children until they leave the center, meaning staff are be able to form real relationships with the children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in ensuring children's safety and well-being while promoting an engaging and interactive atmosphere.
• Support the Caregiver in observing and responding to each child's communication style and developmental progress.
• Help build respectful and trusting relationships with children and their families.
• Contribute to the organization and maintenance of a clean, inviting space that encourages exploration and learning.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• A genuine interest in early childhood education and an understanding of basic child development principles.
• Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and medication administration is highly desirable.
• Strong observational and communication skills.
• Creativity and flexibility in enhancing the learning environment.
• Preferred experience or qualifications in child care or early childhood education.
