  • TITLE:** School Director
  • STATUS:** Full or Part-time, year-round
  • HOURS**: 20-40 hours per week, shift times and lengths may vary
  • WAGE:** $21-$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • LEAVE:** Paid Holidays and up to 3 weeks annually of Paid Time Off
  • SUPERVISION RECEIVED**: Receives direction from and reports to the Executive Director, while maintaining a high level of independence in carrying out daily responsibilities and tasks
  • SUPERVISION EXERCISED:** The School Director supervises all Education staff
  • Summary of Position:** The School Director is responsible to oversee the daily operations, enrollment and education of Little Sprouts and Harvest Christian Academy (LSA/HCA), including staff supervision and scheduling, human resources, event planning, facilities, budget management, state licensing oversight and communication with families. This position is responsible for cultivating a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. The School Director upholds and promotes the mission, vision, and values of the school as an integrated auxiliary ministry of Glendive Alliance Church (GAC).
  • Mission:** Our mission is to show the love of Jesus to everyone who enters our school and to provide high quality, play-based and hands-on education rooted in best practices to meet children's physical, social, emotional, academic, and spiritual needs. LSA/HCA promotes and teaches Christian values through a developmentally-appropriate curriculum, supports parents and children, and fosters a partnership with the greater community.

Minimum Qualifications

¿ Bachelor's Degree in education, leadership, or related fi eld (or equivalent work experience)

¿ 2 years of experience in an early childhood or education setting

¿ 2 years of experience in education administration and/or classroom teaching

¿ Qualify as a Lead Teacher or Higher on the ECP Practitioner Registry

¿ 2 years basic bookkeeping experience

¿ Have or are able to obtain current certifi cation for hands-on infant, child and adult CPR and infant choking response, and standard first aid

¿ Exceptional verbal, written, electronic communication skills with a variety of stakeholders

¿ Exhibit an understanding of and sensitivity to children's needs and development

¿ Be a born-again Christian who professes faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

¿ Agree with and uphold the GAC statement of faith and Christian community standards

¿ Demonstrate consistent, biblical love and care for children and their families

¿ Meet state immunization, background checks and health attestation requirements

¿ Positive, gracious, and service-minded attitude at ll times

¿ Excellent computer skills including Google Drive, Canva, Gmail, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

¿ Current Montana Elementary Education Licensure

¿ 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed early care and education setting

Job Responsibilities

¿ Oversee the daily operation of Little Sprouts and Harvest Christian Academy

¿ Manage fi nancial transactions and basic bookkeeping

¿ Maintain a positive working relationship with Glendive Alliance Church pastor and staff

¿ Lead staff in all aspects of their job responsibilities

¿ Ensure that at all times LSA/HCA is meeting or exceeding state requirements

¿ Proactively ensure the facility is safe, welcoming and well-maintained

¿ Operate within an approved budget

¿ Coordinate with GAC staff regarding facilities, events and ministry opportunities

¿ Ensure that all staff members meet education and training requirements

¿ Communicate with families about relevant policies, activities, schedule changes etc.

¿ Support staff and families in having positive working relationships

¿ Manage human resources and related staff services

¿ Organize curriculum and activities for the classrooms as needed

¿ Manage student enrollment such as waitlist maintenance, scheduling, and facility tours

¿ Keep records and maintain accurate staff and student data

¿ Plan and lead staff meetings and trainings

¿ Develop policies and procedures and maintain staff and family handbooks

¿ Serve as a substitute teacher as needed

¿ Implement a solution-focused, proactive, consistent approach to organizational management

¿ Foster continuity and consistency across LSA/HCA including coordinated schedules

¿ Support staff and families with classroom and student behavior management strategies

¿ Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with other duties as assigned

Continuing Education Requirements

¿ 16 hours of approved training annually
