Position Summary:
The Classroom Aide supports the Lead Guide and Assistant Teacher in maintaining a calm, orderly, and fully prepared environment. This role is essential to the daily rhythm of the classroom—protecting the flow of the day, supporting children’s independence, and ensuring the environment is consistently ready for meaningful work.
The aide also takes ownership of important operational and end-of-day responsibilities that allow the classroom to function smoothly and begin each new day with intention and order.
Responsibilities:
The Classroom Aide will:
- Support the prepared environment by keeping materials clean, complete, orderly, and inviting
- Assist with classroom transitions and support the natural flow of the work cycle
- Maintain a calm, respectful presence that contributes to the overall harmony of the classroom
- Observe children thoughtfully and step in when appropriate, always encouraging independence
- Assist with personal care needs (toileting, accidents, clean-up) with dignity and respect
- Complete essential end-of-day closing responsibilities with consistency and attention to detail
- Wash dishes and ensure all kitchen and classroom cleaning duties are completed thoroughly
- Restock supplies, maintain inventory, and assist with end-of-day reporting and preparation for the following day
- Support health, safety, and sanitation practices in accordance with licensing standards
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with the teaching team
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and child-centered school culture

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a licensed child care center or Montessori setting preferred
- Interest in Montessori education strongly preferred
- Must pass Minnesota DHS background study
- Must complete required licensing orientation before start date
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have the physical capability to fully perform all essential duties described above, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, and actively engage in a classroom environment
Compensation and Schedule
- $18.00 per hour
- Full-time hourly position
- Start date: June 7th, 2026
