Holy Family Home is looking for an amazing Front Desk/Receptionist to join our family team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Provides good public relations with the community and visitors. Receives all persons entering the building with cordial respect, providing them with the information requested, directing them to the proper person or places. These services are consistent with the Home's standards and philosophy and are in compliance with all regulations, codes, policies and procedures that govern the facility.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer telephone calls; determine nature of call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department, screen calls as requested.
- Receive and deliver accurate messages in a timely and prompt manner. Able to listen with empathy to Resident and family concerns. Direct physicians, sales representatives, workmen, admission inquiries, job applicants, and anyone requesting assistance to proper person. Accept mail deliveries, prepare mail for delivery, accept donations and direct to proper personnel.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment in the reception area.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Resident, departmental and organizational information to assure that Residents' rights are protected.
- Flexible in ability to cover work schedules for co-workers in regard to vacations, illness and emergencies. Able to perform simple motor skills such as standing, walking, stooping, sitting, bending, etc.
- Able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to perform simple manipulative skills such as, writing, filing, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalency.
- Well-groomed, patient, courteous.
- Able to speak, write and understand English and have a pleasant speaking voice.
- Hearing is adequate to perform telephone usage and converse.
- Display calm, levelheaded nature especially in emergencies and at busy times.
- Have a sense of responsibility.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Home's operation and physical layout.
- Able to learn and efficiently operate the phone and beeper systems.
- Make decisions displaying good judgment.
- Receive and deliver messages accurately and in a timely manner.
- Possess the ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all Home information.
- Prepare daily outgoing mail and any express mail as required.
- Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member within Department and with all departments or other disciplines.
- Perform secretarial functions as necessary or directed.
- Observe dress and conduct codes, including wearing identification badge.
- Meet attendance standards as established and provide proper notice of absence.
- Complete duties in prescribed time.
- Attend in-services and department meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
WORK SETTING/ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily indoors. Work environment is well lighted, clean and suitable to tasks performed by the employee within temperature control standards that govern a skilled care facility.
