Lead Teacher

About the Role:

The Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children, primarily toddlers, within an early childhood education setting. The Lead Teacher will guide and support assistant teachers and collaborate with families to ensure each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism. A key outcome of this role is to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment/atmosphere that encourages curiosity and learning through play. Ultimately, the Lead Teacher contributes to laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well-being in the children under their care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care or educational setting.
• Knowledge of child development principles and toddler feeding practices.
• Clear background check and compliance with state child care regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an early childhood education environment.
• Additional certifications related to child nutrition or special needs education.
• Familiarity with state and national early childhood education standards and frameworks.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute daily lesson plans tailored to toddler developmental stages.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high-quality child care standards.
• Monitor and document each child's progress, behavior, and health, communicating regularly with parents and guardians.
• Implement and oversee toddler feeding practices that ensure nutritional needs are met safely and hygienically.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that complies with all regulatory and licensing requirements.
