Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of ages 1-3, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development and classroom management to support each child's growth and learning. The Daycare Teacher will work closely with children, parents, and fellow staff to promote positive behaviors and developmental milestones.
Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and structured activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities for parent communication.
- Enforce classroom rules and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic caregiving needs for infants and toddlers.
- Collaborate with parents to discuss developmental milestones and address any concerns.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the classroom environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training related to early childhood education, first aid, special education needs, and inclusive caregiving practices.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or classroom settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific activities.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; additional training in special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Experience with classroom management, behavior management techniques, and caregiving responsibilities such as infant care or toddler care.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports children with diverse needs.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for early childhood education are essential qualities for success in this role.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
