Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for school-age children
- Lead classroom management efforts to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and engaging environment
- Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, field trips, and special events to ensure safety at all times
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and respect among students
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized support plans for children with special education needs
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and classroom updates
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR/AED operation, and emergency response plans
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including camp or youth program facilitation
- Strong classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development principles
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive education environments is preferred
- Ability to lead outdoor activities safely and effectively in various weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide leadership to fellow staff members
- Background in youth development programs, sports coaching, theater arts, or babysitting is considered an asset
- Comfortably with driving a mini bus or Van for pickups
