Assistant Teacher – Home Daycare (Toddlers)
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Schedule: Monday through Friday. 9:00am–1:00pm
Start Date: Flexible Start. Summer 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children in daily self-care routines such as dressing, toileting, diapering and meals, using respectful and clear guidance
- Foster independence and resilience through child-led learning and consistent, compassionate boundaries
- Model and encourage age-appropriate social-emotional development and problem-solving
- Create and participate in engaging activities that promote both fine and gross motor development
- Contribute to the maintenance of a calm, organized, and clean learn environment
- Log daily information (e.g., attendance, naps, meals, observations) through our daycare communication app
- Collaborate respectfully and professionally with the daycare director, assistant teacher and parents
- Arrive consistently on time, with a positive and present attitude ready to support the children’s growth
Qualifications:
- EEC Certified Teacher (Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care) *highly preferred*
- Minimum **1 year of experience** working with children in a professional childcare or educational setting
- Strong natural organizational skills and time management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice, and professional growth
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
