Assistant Teacher – Montessori-Inspired Home Daycare (Toddlers)
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Schedule: Monday through Friday. 8:30am–4:30pm
Start Date: January 2nd, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support toddlers in daily self-care routines such as dressing, toileting, and meals, using respectful and clear guidance
- Foster independence and resilience through child-led learning and consistent, compassionate boundaries
- Model and encourage age-appropriate social-emotional development and problem-solving
- Create and participate in engaging activities that promote both fine and gross motor development
- Contribute to the maintenance of a calm, organized, and aesthetically pleasing Montessori-inspired space
- Assist with diapering and support toilet learning in alignment with each child’s readiness and family preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe learning environment throughout the day
- Log daily information (e.g., attendance, naps, meals, observations) through our daycare communication app
- Collaborate respectfully and professionally with the daycare director and parents
- Arrive consistently on time, with a positive and present attitude ready to support the children’s growth
Qualifications:
- EEC Certified Teacher (Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care) *highly preferred*
- Minimum **1 year of experience** working with children in a professional childcare or educational setting
- Strong natural organizational skills and time management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior **Montessori or Montessori-inspired experience** — *highly preferred*
- Commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice, and professional growth
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
