QI Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Quality Improvement Manager, the QI Specialist will be responsible for coordinating QI events and activities, data entry, preparing and distributing QI reports, providing administrative support, and assisting with patient outreach to improve compliance with HEDIS and UDS quality measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Assist the QI Manager in conducting a comprehensive, continuous quality improvement (CQI) program throughout the medical practice, including help with report preparation, audits, root cause analysis and data organizational management.
- Coordinate and schedule QI related meetings, as assigned, and prepare meeting materials and meeting minutes.
- Organize and maintain QI documents, plans, and policies.
- Provide administrative support to QI and Population Health Teams.
- Compiles data into reports for the QI Manager, and QI committee, and the senior management team, including an analysis of trends and patterns.
- Fulfills internal and external requests for outcomes data, including developing special reports.
- Participates in presentations to educate staff on outcomes management principles and systems.
- Assist with training of staff on quality measures and goals.
- Assist with user set-up, technical assistance/training to staff, and generate dashboard reports using the health center’s Population Health Management software system.
- Assist with handling patient issues and complaints through the patient assistance hotline and complaint process.
- Conduct patient outreach to schedule health care screenings to improve compliance with HEDIS and UDS quality measures.
- Coordinate QI events and activities to include special events and health care screenings for patients.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of CQI principles and practices.
- Knowledge of CQI tools.
- Knowledge of medical field and physician practice management.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Skills:
- Skill in effective use of computer systems and electronic health records systems.
- Skill in organizational, planning and prioritization.
- Skill to effectively communicate to internal and external customers.
- Advanced knowledge of ECW, HEDIS, PDSA and UDS preferred
Abilities:
- Ability to effectively interact as member of health care team.
- Ability to competently use Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate practice management software.
- Ability to competently use the Electronic Health Record and other population health tools to obtain necessary information required.
- Ability to work in collaboration with cross-functional teams as well as independently.
- Ability to adapt to a fast- paced work environment, shift priorities when needed, and meet program deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- College education (associate’s degree) required.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Clinical Medical Assistant preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical practice setting.
