Responsibilities:
Assist in all aspects of our program under the direction and guidance of seasoned preschool teachers.
Ability to understand and carry out duties under the direction of mentor teachers and supervisors.
Teacher/Childcare Assistant Duties
- Assist teachers in all aspect of the daily routine while following Title 22 rules and regulations for health and safety and learning best practices in the field.
- Maintain a positive and professional learning environment
- Learn and follow appropriate discipline techniques to guide and teach children appropriate behavior and interaction strategies
- Build good, open communication with children, families and staff
- Ensure the environment is clean, hygienic and safe.
- Participate in personal care routines including diapering, toileting, handwashing, changing clothing, cleaning up.
- Prepare snacks, clean kitchen and food prep areas
- Office tasks (microsoft word, camera, copy machines, paper cutter)potentially
- Maintain confidentiality

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Lift up to 30 lbs easily
- Stand for long periods of time comfortably
- Sit, stand, squat, get up and down quickly, dancing, running, kneeling, hearing, speaking, seeing
- this list is not exhaustive as teacher must be able to learn, understand, and work as a teacher to maintain the very best environment for children, families, and teachers.
Education/Experience
- Education- Six (6) ECE units. Twelve (12) or more is preferred and/or willing to continue until 12 are completed.
- Coursework must include: Child Development, Early Childhood Education or Human Development, preschool curriculum and Child, Family, and Community.
- Candidates who do not possess at least 6 ECE units will be considered on a case by case basis. Candidates if selected who do not possess at least 6 ECE units, but be willing to enroll immediately and complete at least 6 ECE units to continue employment.
- Experience- Working with preschool age children or successful work experience in a preschool program.
Documentation required prior to hire date as required by the State of California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing
- CLEAR background clearance (no exemptions)
- Physician's Report Form completed -Good health status
- TB test clearance
- Copies of immunization records for MMR, DTAP
- Flu shot (or flu waiver)
- College Transcripts
- CPR and First Aid Certificate (or within 2 months) We have a class coming up April 26th!
- Health and Safety Certificate (or within 2 months)
- Mandated Reporter Training (online)
- Pesticide Training (online)

Preschool/Childcare Assistant Teacher Monday through Friday- Part Time afternoons 3.5-6 hours to be discussed and as needed. Schedule may be flexible, but generally we like consistency. The schedule may be negotiable.
