We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Coordinator to lead engaging summer programs designed for children and youth. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse range of summer activities that align with program goals, including sports, arts, theater, and educational workshops.
- Supervise daily program operations, ensuring activities run smoothly and safely while maintaining high energy and engagement levels.
- Manage classroom settings or activity spaces with effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and participation.
- Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and parents to communicate program updates and address any concerns promptly.
- Enforce safety protocols by maintaining awareness of child safety procedures, including first aid readiness and emergency response plans.
- Support children’s social-emotional development through Christian counseling principles or other supportive approaches when appropriate.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring summer staff or volunteers to foster a motivated team dedicated to enriching children’s summer experiences.
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management, childcare, or camp supervision with a focus on early childhood education or working with children.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies to support positive interactions among children of various ages.
- Ability to lead activities involving sports coaching, theater arts, tutoring, or other recreational programs that promote childhood development.
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain it prior to the start of the program to ensure safety during all activities.
- Familiarity with special education needs or inclusive practices to support diverse learners.
