Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical activity in line with educational standards.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Manage classroom environments effectively to ensure safety, positive behavior, and active participation among children.
- Support children’s emotional well-being through behavior management techniques and child welfare practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Incorporate Montessori, preschool, or daycare methodologies to enhance early childhood education experiences.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to track developmental milestones and inform instructional planning.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education for young learners.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Follow all DSS licensing regulations and center policies
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Must pass a SLED background check
- Must meet South Carolina DSS childcare licensing requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification
