Assistant Teacher (Early Childhood)

Our Little Lights Early Childhood program is growing! What began as a preschool-only program is expanding into a full-time childcare that supports children throughout the day. We are seeking caring, dependable teachers who are passionate about early childhood education and committed to helping children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment.

Little Lights is a one-of-a-kind program. We are 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 Locals Love Us Winners. We love the culture of excellence among our staff. Proverbs 22:6

The assistant teacher candidate will work as a team with a skilled lead teacher and classroom aide. Therefore, must have the ability to communicate as a positive team member.

The assistant teacher candidate must exhibit a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The assistant teacher is responsible for assisting in:

- planning and implementing Godly teaching with the lead teacher to provide a warm, nurturing, Christ-centered environment.

- maintaining and supporting a safe and loving atmosphere where children are encouraged to grow spiritually, physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. Luke 2:52

- fostering positive relationships with children, families and staff, working in conjunction with the director and staff to enhance the early childhood program. Col. 3:23

Required Qualifications

Candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Work effectively with young children in a group setting.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Pass all required background studies and licensing requirements.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and pediatric emergency training, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Support the mission, values, and ministry of Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or progress toward obtaining one.
• Experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children.
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience in a Christian preschool or childcare setting.
