Currently, we have an immediate opening for a GSRP Associate Teacher at our Washington Township location. In this position, you will have the opportunity to prepare children for Kindergarten by teaching lifelong lessons that allow them to develop confidence and thrive through multi-sensory learning experiences. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with an excellent benefits package and plenty of room for professional growth.
Responsibilities for GSRP Associate Teachers Include:
- Provide high quality care for the children while meeting all of the planning, assessment and professional duties of the GSRP program
- Work cooperatively with GSRP Lead Teacher in supporting classroom activities designed to promote cognitive, physical and social-emotional development
- Assist the Lead Teacher with clerical and record keeping duties such as attendance, progress monitoring, preparation of instruction materials, etc.
- Follow the daily schedule as outlined in the curriculum and GSRP guidelines
- Work with individual and small groups of students to develop routines and monitor behavior to ensure adequate interaction, rest and playtime
- Communicate with families to provide updates on children’s growth and progress
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and staff
- Create a fun environment while maintaining the health and safety of the children
- Participate in continuous professional development, as well as any school activities, meetings or events that contribute to the mission of the program
- Assist with other school related responsibilities as assigned by both the GSRP Lead Teacher and/or Little Learners Childcare Center LLC administration
Qualifications for GSRP Associate Teachers include:
- Prior experience as a PreK or Preschool Teacher, preferably in a GSRP Program
- Must have one of the following education requirements: 1) Associate Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or the equivalent; or 2) Valid Center-Based Preschool CDA; or 3) Currently pursuing education and willing to meet approved compliance plan
- Strong understanding of child development and principles of early childhood education
- Meet background check requirements with fingerprint clearance
- Reliable attendance, performance, and physical ability to do the job
- Basic computer skills to provide daily logging of child’s information
- Excellent attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities
- Effective oral and written communication, organizational and instructional skills
- Familiar with safety and sanitation guidelines for the classroom
Compensation:
- Rate of pay is based on level of education and experience in the field of early childhood
