Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Clinical Oversight
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to SLPs, SLPAs, and support staff.
- Ensure therapy services align with best practices, compliance standards, and the clinic’s mission.
- Monitor clinical quality, productivity, and patient outcomes, implementing improvements as needed.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new speech therapy team members.
- Maintain a small caseload, providing direct therapy services to children with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and refine speech therapy programs, incorporating innovative techniques and play-based interventions.
- Collaborate with occupational, physical, and behavioral therapists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide clinical oversight for feeding and swallowing therapy programs (experience preferred but not required).
- Act as a key resource for parents and caregivers, ensuring they understand and feel confident in their child’s therapy journey.
- Educate families on home programs and strategies to support skill development outside of therapy sessions.
- Build relationships with referring providers, schools, and community organizations to promote awareness of our services.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor staff scheduling and workload distribution to maximize efficiency and patient access to services.
- Stay current with industry trends, therapy innovations, and legal requirements affecting pediatric speech therapy.
- Education & Licensure:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current California SLP license (or eligibility for licensure).
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of pediatric speech-language pathology experience.
- Prior leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with feeding and swallowing therapy is a plus but not required.
