Responsibilities
- Lead classroom activities that support toddler development through age-appropriate lesson planning and curriculum implementation focused on literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Supervise and mentor teaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction, effective classroom management, and adherence to educational standards.
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials that align with early childhood education best practices, including special education strategies and early intervention techniques.
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians by providing regular updates on children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR certifications, to maintain a secure environment for children.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies that promote respectful interactions and emotional regulation.
- Oversee classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols to create an inviting space conducive to learning and exploration.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with young children in early childhood or preschool settings with a focus on toddler care.
- Proven ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with effective behavior management techniques tailored for toddlers.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, early intervention methods, and standardized testing where applicable.
- Excellent communication skills for parent engagement, team collaboration, and staff training purposes.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching physical education activities suitable for toddlers to promote motor skills development.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, child welfare practices, first aid/CPR certification requirements, and health & safety standards in childcare environments.
