What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook for Child Care Center position at Little Lambs Learning Center?
Little Lambs Learning Center is currently seeking a cook for our child care center. We are a high quality, Christian, private preschool and child care center serving breakfast, lunch and snack to 78 students a day. Fast-paced, detail oriented, physically demanding position. On-site, paid training.
Essential Duties:
- preparing meals and snacks for up to 78 children (including breakfast, lunch, and pm snack). (Some recipes provided but new ideas welcomed!)
- ensuring proper food preparation and storage utilizing FIFO (first in - first out) food storage system
- preparing weekly order lists for kitchen, food and janitorial supplies while staying within allocated budget and approval from director
- ordering and maintaining inventory for kitchen and janitorial supplies
- picking up, loading and unloading of large product orders from Sam's Club and putting away delivery of items from Walmart
- maintaining the kitchen and washing dishes daily in a hygienic, safe and presentable condition, maintaining standards of sanitation
- Ensures compliance with Colorado Health and Child Care Licensing regulations/standards
- Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen in accordance with local food safety requirements
- Wash and sanitize dishes daily
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent (GED) required.
- Required to have (or willing to obtain) and maintain food service/food handler permit or license according to state/local regulations.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and load and unload large food orders
- Must have valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle to pick-up food orders from Sam's Club
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of background check
