Duties

• Plan and develop nutritious menus tailored to children's dietary needs and preferences, ensuring variety and balance.
• Prepare and cook meals using diverse techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods suited for high-volume settings.
• Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times.
• Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling practices to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
• Assist with catering and special meal events, providing quality service in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory, meal production, and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Collaborate with dietary department staff to accommodate special diets and nutritional guidelines for children.

Skills

• Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide, with knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques.
• Strong culinary skills including proficiency in poaching, braising, grilling, knife skills, and high-volume food production.
• Extensive understanding of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures within a kitchen setting.
• Experience in the food industry or restaurant environments demonstrating excellent food handling and service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation.
• Familiarity with catering services and serving large groups of children or families is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Pay: $9.50 - $13.00 per hour
