Lead Childcare Teacher
Little Lambs Child Care – Appleton, WI
Little Lambs Child Care is seeking a warm, dependable, and engaging Lead Childcare Teacher to join our small, Montessori-inspired licensed in-home childcare program. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys working with children, values respectful communication, and can confidently lead a mixed-age group in a calm and nurturing environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating meaningful connections with children, encouraging independence, and maintaining a structured yet loving atmosphere.
Position Details
- Small group setting (maximum of 8 children)
- Mixed age group 2–4 years old
- Montessori-inspired approach
- Independent lead teacher position
- No assistant scheduled during shifts
Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision and ensure child safety at all times
- Create a calm, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Lead daily routines including meals, toileting, outdoor play, rest time, and activities
- Implement simple Montessori-inspired activities and hands-on learning experiences
- Communicate respectfully and positively with children
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare environment
- Follow Wisconsin DCF 250 licensing regulations and program policies
- Build positive relationships with families and communicate professionally with parents
- Encourage independence, kindness, and social-emotional development
Qualifications
***MUST QUALIFY AS A FAMILY CHILD CARE PROVIDER ON THE WISCONSIN REGISTRY***
MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE
MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVILENT
MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND INSURANCE
MUST HAVE A CURRENT WISCONSIN REGISTRY PROFILE AND A MINIMUM LEVEL 3
MUST HAVE CURRENT INFANT/TODDLER CPR/AED

Compensation
- Competitive pay based on experience, education, and qualifications
- Typically ranging from $17–$21 per hour
