Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients such as slicing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and bread using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Assemble sandwiches according to menu specifications while adhering to recipe guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of the prep area, including sanitizing surfaces and properly storing ingredients to meet food safety standards
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, ovens, refrigerators, and food prep tools
• Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming shifts or special orders
• Support the team in food preparation tasks for catering events or large orders when needed
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal assembly and ensure timely service

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
• Strong knife skills with the ability to perform slicing techniques accurately and efficiently
• Experience with food handling, meal preparation, and following recipes precisely
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain a clean work environment
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
• Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
• A proactive attitude towards cleaning duties and maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen
