Job Summary
Little Italy Hawaii is seeking a friendly, dependable, and energetic Restaurant Team Member to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will support daily restaurant operations, welcome guests, take and prepare orders, assist with food and beverage service, maintain clean and organized work areas, and work closely with team members to provide a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards
- Assist with basic food preparation, plating, and order assembly
- Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately
- Answer guest questions about menu items and available options
- Maintain clean and organized dining, counter, kitchen, and service areas
- Restock food items, beverages, packaging, condiments, and restaurant supplies
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Ensure orders are prepared accurately and served promptly
- Support team members during busy service periods
- Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties as needed
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily restaurant procedures
- Report equipment, inventory, or service concerns to management
- Perform other duties assigned by restaurant management
Requirements
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, food-service, or retail experience is preferred but not required
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail
- Basic POS and cash-handling experience is a plus
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks
- Ability to lift and move moderate loads when required
