Lead Teacher – Classroom & Daily Operations (Part-Time)

Little Innovators Preschool is intentionally small by design. We are a relationship-driven, play-based preschool focused on emotional safety, connection, and thoughtful learning.
We are seeking a part-time Lead Teacher who can confidently run the daily classroom flow, maintain a calm and regulated environment, and serve as the on-site authority during core hours of the day.
This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who thrives on structure, leadership, and emotional presence, and who enjoys mentoring others by example.
Position Overview
The Lead Teacher – Classroom & Daily Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily classroom rhythm, leading transitions, maintaining emotional regulation, and ensuring consistent execution of curriculum and routines. This person is the "anchor" of the day and provides stability for both children and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily schedule, transitions, and pacing
- Maintain a calm, emotionally regulated classroom climate
- Serve as the final authority in the classroom during scheduled hours
- Lead circle time and group activities as scheduled
- Implement curriculum prepared by the Curriculum Lead
- Adapt pacing and approach based on children's engagement
- Provide real-time guidance and direction to classroom staff
- Open and/or close the classroom independently as scheduled
- Maintain classroom organization and readiness
- Follow school policies, routines, and safety standards consistently
Schedule & Hours
- 25–30 hours per week
- Opportunity for additional hours as enrollment grows
Compensation
- $15-17 per hour, depending on experience and role performance
Qualifications
- 2 years experience in early childhood education
- Prior Lead Teacher or strong classroom leadership experience preferred
- Confident decision-maker with strong emotional regulation skills
- Warm, calm, and professional communication style
- Reliable, punctual, and independent
- Alignment with a play-based, child-centered philosophy
