Position Summary
The part-time daycare instructor is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves implementing age-appropriate curriculum, supervising children, and leading classroom staff to support each child’s developmental, social, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Lead and support assistant teachers and aides in classroom activities
- Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress and maintain accurate records
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with licensing regulations
- Model appropriate behavior and classroom management techniques
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a childcare or preschool setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Certifications & Requirements
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check clearance in accordance with state licensing requirements
- Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 30 lbs, standing, bending, etc.)
