Montessori Infant Classroom Floater

Little Friends Montessori School is seeking a caring, dependable Infant Montessori Floater to support our youngest children and classroom teams. This role provides coverage where needed and helps create a calm, safe, nurturing environment that respects each child’s individual development.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, responsive care, including feeding, diapering, comforting, and supporting individual sleep routines.
• Move between classrooms as assigned, providing consistent support during staff breaks, absences, and busy transitions.
• Sit on the floor, engage with children at their level, and respond warmly to their cues.
• Encourage movement, exploration, language, and emerging independence through developmentally appropriate Montessori activities.
• Follow each child’s established care plan and classroom routines.
• Maintain a clean, organized environment, including sanitizing materials and assisting with laundry and dishes.
• Record feeding, diapering, sleep, and other care information accurately.
• Communicate respectfully with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Follow school policies and all applicable supervision, health, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• A patient, nurturing approach and genuine enjoyment working with infants.
• Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn Montessori principles and follow classroom guidance.
• Ability to safely lift and carry children, move between sitting and standing, and participate in floor activities, with reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet applicable Oregon child care employment, background check, and training requirements.
• Infant care or early childhood experience preferred.

M-F 9-5:30

$17-$18 an hour

After 1 year of employment: 401K and paid time off

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
