Description
Little Friends, Inc. provides college students with the opportunity to enhance their classroom learning through an unpaid internship in one of our agency programs and supervised by our renowned staff.
Recreation Therapist Interns will provide services to all students at Krejci Academy (5 years old – age 22) in individual, peer pair, and group modalities, where the primary task is to build recreational leisure skills and social skills.
Internship start approximately January 2026.
Hours:
8:30am – 4pm
Monday – Friday

Requirements
Qualified candidates:
- Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy and have good academic standing.
- Must be able to pass required background checks, drug screen, TB test and physical.
- Must be capable of speaking English clearly and fluently to communicate with staff, children, and parents.
- Will respond to client behavior problems in collaboration with other staff, which may require sufficient strength, agility, and sensory acuity to be alert to client behavioral emergencies, and to effectively implement the procedures of confrontation avoidance, escape evasion, and emergency transport with students weighing a minimum of 75 pounds, in accord with the agency-approved Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) course.
- Must act in a professional manner which reflects positively on themself, Little Friends, and Krejci Academy. This includes demonstrating high commitment to client service and customer satisfaction for all internal and external customers of Little Friends. Must have the ability to make sound judgment
- Must be aware of and follow all Little Friends, Inc and Krejci Academy policies and procedures.
- Must complete all training and re-certifications as per Little Friends, Inc. and Krejci Academy requirements.
