About Krejci Academy:
Krejci ("Kret-see") Academy is a therapeutic day school in Warrenville, IL, serving individuals on the autism spectrum ages 5 - 22 years. We are able to provide small class sizes that speak to students' individual needs. Each classroom is led by a Special Education Teacher with the support of a Teacher Assistant and one or more Paraprofessionals.
Paraprofessionals provide support to the classroom teacher in implementing the therapeutic treatment program. Paraprofessionals often work one-on-one with students but can also support the whole class.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
8:45am - 2:45pm
Compensation:
Starting at $20.00/hr
Age requirement:
At least 19 years old
License requirement (Little Friends can assist candidates with this process):
Option 1: Paraprofessional license through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
Option 2: Substitute license through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
Essential functions:
- Must be capable of speaking English clearly and fluently to communicate with staff, children and parents.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, lift 75 pounds, move quickly to respond to client behavior challenges.
- Must act in a manner that reflects a calm, positive and professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to maintain regular attendance in accordance with agency.
