We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. This role involves implementing age-appropriate curricula, supporting child development, and maintaining open communication with parents. The Preschool Teacher plays a vital role in shaping the foundational skills of our students through innovative teaching methods and compassionate care.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth and learning.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
- Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings, reports, and daily updates.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services by collaborating with specialists and implementing individualized strategies.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain documentation related to child welfare and safety protocols.
- Supervise daily activities including playtime, snack time, nap time, and educational activities tailored to various age groups such as toddlers and preschoolers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood development, curriculum updates, and teaching strategies.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education practices.
- Experience in curriculum development across multiple domains such as literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori techniques.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for young children.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is expected.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within the educational staff.
MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD. HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AND/OR G.E.D.
