Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our educational team. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, utilizing positive reinforcement strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and specialists to support students' individual education journey
- Provide speech therapy and behavioral therapy as needed, focusing on the unique requirements of students with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Changing children in classrooms where diapering is age appropriate and assisting with potty training in classrooms where it is age appropriate.
- Working with in the USDA food program to facilitate family style dinning in classrooms and assist the children in serving themselves when possible.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Foster literacy education through innovative teaching practices that promote reading and writing skills.
- Support early intervention strategies for students requiring additional assistance in their development.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment that promotes child welfare and encourages exploration.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education, special education, and childhood development.
Requirements
- Stars basic training is free through the state and is a requirement for all lead position or breaker positions where you will be left alone with children.
- Ability to pass a state provided background check, High school diploma or GED, Negative results from a TB test preformed in the last 12months, Food Handlers Permit, CPR First aid hands on with infant and child. RCA WAC 110-300-0105
- College credits in Early Childhood Education or a related field are preferred but not required
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting, is preferred but not required, special preference to those who have proven experience particularly with those who have autism or other developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in teaching physical education or behavioral health is advantageous.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners’ needs through differentiated instruction.
