Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is a human services nonprofit supporting the well-being of children, youth, families, and individuals across New York City and Long Island since 1929.
Our staff of more than 500 builds well-being by providing prevention services, foster care, residential treatment care, adoption services, programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and medical and mental health services.
Principle Responsibilities
- Contract Management & Compliance:Monitor contract milestones, reconcile government grant payments, and ensure invoicing strictly aligns with local, state, and federal funding guidelines.
- Revenue Cycle Oversight:Manage the full revenue lifecycle, frominitialcharge capture and claim submission to payment posting and collections.
- Denials & Appeals:Investigate and resolve denied claims or payment discrepancies. Track root causes to minimize future revenue leakage.
- Staff Supervision:Lead, train, and mentor the billing and contract teams. Set productivity standards, conduct performance reviews, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Reporting & Analytics:Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Accounts Receivable (A/R) aging and denial rates. Provide regular financial reporting to finance leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with program directors and clinical teams, as well as outsideagencies, OCFS, OPWDD,ACS toensure client service documentation supports required billing criteria as well as maintain rate tables throughout entities and sharing a comprehensive understanding of codingregulations, IE: AAPC and MCTAC.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education:Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, orrelatedfield.
- Experience:3–5 years of progressive experience in medicalVFCA/contract billingACSaccounts receivable, and revenue cycle management, ideally within a not-for-profit or social service setting.
- Supervisory Skills:Proven ability to lead and develop a team of billing specialists and Accountants.
- Technical Proficiency:Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, accounting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills,MyEvole, RevConnect, Connections and BICS(ACSPayment Software)
- Regulatory Knowledge:Deep understanding of healthcare and social service payerrequirements,SSA/SSI,29I Core VFCA (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, managed care).,
Travel Requirements
This position offers a full-time, hybrid work schedule and is based in Wading River, NY. It may require occasional local travel.
