Little Explorers Discovery School is seeking a passionate, relationship-centered Lead Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.
At LEDS, we believe that young children thrive when educators embrace the full journey of early childhood and are excited to support children at a variety of stages of development. While this position is for our Pre-K classroom for the 26-27 school year, we are seeking a teacher whose values, strengths, and passion align with our mission and who is open to working with children of all ages that we serve.
Our program serves children from 16 months through Pre-K in a nature-inspired, child-centered environment that values curiosity, creativity, connection, and play.

Responsibilities
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Build strong partnerships with families
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership
- Observe children's interests and help extend learning through meaningful experiences
- Maintain licensing standards and program expectations
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet Virginia licensing requirements for a Lead Teacher position
- CDA, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience preferred
