- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards and incorporate curriculum development principles.
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques, ensuring safety and respect for all children.
- Support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth by facilitating activities that promote literacy education, math skills, and physical education.
- Provide individualized support for children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services, adapting teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of child progress through assessments, standardized testing results, and observational notes to inform instruction and communicate with parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan educational activities that incorporate Montessori or other specialized teaching approaches when applicable.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, childcare best practices, and classroom experience enhancement.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations, safety protocols, and licensing requirements while maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Participate in school events, parent meetings, and community outreach initiatives to foster a supportive learning community.
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior preschool experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content across subjects including literacy education, math (including basic numeracy), physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Familiarity with special education practices and experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Classroom management expertise to create a safe, inclusive environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Formal training or certification in early childhood education or related fields; Montessori certification or experience is a plus.
