Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Floater and Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will support the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. As a lead, you will oversee daily kitchen activities, coordinate tasks among team members, and uphold high standards of sanitation and safety. Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and storage areas following food safety procedures
- Manage bussing duties by clearing tables, resetting service areas, and ensuring a clean dining environment
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and other appliances
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy supplies or equipment safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Maintain proper food handling practices to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness
- Support the team during catering or banquet events by assisting with setup, service, and cleanup processes
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and kitchen operations within a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in commercial kitchens
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during supply restocking or equipment handling
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and food safety management systems
- Experience in dishwashing, cleaning routines, and maintaining kitchen health standards
- Prior experience in hospitality environments such as banquet or catering services is highly desirable

You are also hling to be floating to help to potty breaks as well as run teacher breaks. Hours are currently 35 to 40 hours a week. You may also be a sub if someone calls out.
Pay: $15.16 - $16.00 per hour
