Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead classroom activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among preschool-aged children.
- Utilize assessment-driven instruction techniques to monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments; analyze student performance data regularly to inform instructional strategies.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques and conflict resolution skills to create a safe, inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design
- Engage with families through regular communication about their child's progress, developmental milestones, and educational goals; provide guidance on early childhood development best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all educational regulations and licensing standards while maintaining high-quality childcare practices in accordance with North Carolina early childhood frameworks as applicable.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in preschool or early childhood education settings is essential
- Strong classroom management skills complemented by conflict management expertise to foster a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of educational compliance standards, regulation requirements, and best practices in childcare settings including toddler care and private school environments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and community partners; writing skills for documentation and reporting are necessary.
- Proven ability to analyze student performance data quantitatively to evaluate progress and tailor instruction accordingly; experience implementing individualized learning plans is a plus.
