Duties

• Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently during retail sales transactions, handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with precision.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos to enhance their shopping experience.
• Manage cash drawer handling responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
• Upsell products and suggest complementary items to increase sales while maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the store remains tidy, inviting, and well-stocked for customers.
• Conduct retail math calculations quickly for change, discounts, or promotional pricing to ensure accuracy in every transaction.
• Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or scheduling product demos.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays that highlight featured products and seasonal items.
• Assist in training new team members on POS systems, cashier procedures, and customer service standards when needed.

Skills

• Proficiency with POS (Point of Sale) systems for smooth transaction processing.
• Previous supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the cashier team.
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions involving discounts or returns.
• Strong communication skills to engage customers effectively and convey product knowledge clearly.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs better.
• Knowledge of retail store product details to assist with product demos and upselling strategies.
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone.
• Experience with stocking, merchandising, and maintaining organized retail displays.
