IDD Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to an individual with developmental disabilities, assisting them in daily living activities and promoting their independence. Your responsibilities will include preparing meals, assisting with hygiene, assisting with chores, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the individual. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, particularly in group home or assisted living settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
• Provide personal care and support to individual in a compassionate manner
• Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences
• Assist with medication administration as per care plans and guidelines
• Engage individual in social activities
• Support individuals with intellectual disability
• Maintain confidentiality of individual information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or high school equivalency (GED)
• Hold a valid North Carolina driver's license
• Criminal background checks deem no health and safety risk to participant
• Ability to successfully complete all trainings required for the position
• Experience working with clients with intellectual disability preferred / but not required
• First aid and CPR certification is a plus / can get on job training
• Computer skills
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others achieve their best quality of life

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
