Quality Assurance Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and quality programs in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for conducting routine inspections, sampling, testing, documentation review, and line checks to help ensure products meet company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production or quality assurance, strong attention to detail, and working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and food safety requirements. Responsibilities: ● Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process product, packaging, and finished goods. ● Conduct pre-operational and operational inspections to verify sanitation, equipment condition, and compliance with GMPs. ● Collect product and environmental samples for testing and retain samples as required. ● Monitor and document critical control points, quality parameters, and production line conditions. ● Verify label accuracy, code dates, packaging integrity, weights, and product specifications. ● Complete QA records accurately and promptly, including inspection logs, deviation reports, hold documentation, and corrective action records. ● Identify quality or food safety issues and escalate concerns to production leadership or QA management. ● Assist with product holds, nonconformance investigations, and corrective/preventive actions. ● Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as needed. ● Promote compliance with food safety, sanitation, allergen control, and company quality standards. ● Work collaboratively with production, sanitation, maintenance, and warehouse teams to resolve quality issues. ● Assist with calibration checks and verification of QA equipment, as applicable.

Required Qualifications: ● High school diploma or GED required ● Basic knowledge of: ○ GMPs ○ HACCP principles ○ Sanitation and allergen control ○ Food safety documentation practices ● Ability to read and follow specifications, SOPs, and work instructions. ● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. ● Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Microsoft Office or similar systems. ● Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. ● Comfort working on the production floor. ● Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends, if needed.

Preferred Certifications and Training ● HACCP Certification ● PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) training ● SQF Practitioner training or experience ● ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Manager ● Internal Auditor training for food safety or quality systems ● GMP training ● Allergen Control training ● Food Defense / Food Fraud awareness training Preferred Skills ● Experience performing line checks and documenting quality results in a manufacturing setting ● Familiarity with FDA, USDA, or GFSI-based food safety environments ● Ability to use basic QA tools such as thermometers, scales, pH meters, metal detector checks, and ATP or sanitation verification tools ● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recognize deviations from standards ● Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) 

Physical Requirements ● Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts ● Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds occasionally ● Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or refrigerated production environments ● Ability to wear required PPE, including hairnets, gloves, smocks, hearing protection, and safety footwear
