What are the responsibilities and job description for the Window Treatment Installer / Technician position at Little Blind Spot?
About the role
Our installers are the last hands on every project and the reason our work lasts. We don't subcontract a single install — our team handles every job start to finish, in the homes of Twin Cities families who've trusted us for over 40 years. This is precise, hands-on work for someone who takes pride in doing it right the first time and enjoys being the person who leaves a room better than they found it.
You'll measure, install, and service premium custom window treatments — primarily Hunter Douglas — across the metro. You'll also teach homeowners how their new treatments work and stay until everything is right. The homeowner should feel calm and confident the moment you walk in — and even more so when you leave.
What you'll do
- Perform precision measurements and professional installations of premium custom window treatments
- Diagnose fit, function, and product issues in the field and solve them on site
- Handle service calls and adjustments with the same care as a new install
- Walk homeowners through how their treatments operate before you leave
- Treat every home — and everyone in it — with respect, care, and a clean work area
- Keep your vehicle, tools, and inventory organized and job-ready
What we're looking for
- A craftsman's eye and a steady, methodical approach to the work
- Comfort with hand and power tools and accurate measuring
- Experience installing window treatments is a plus — but we'll train the right person who brings strong trade skills (finish carpentry, cabinetry, low-voltage/AV, or similar)
- Hunter Douglas product experience or certification is a plus — not required
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently in clients' homes
- A warm, professional presence — you represent Little Blind Spot at every doorstep
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to lift, climb, and work on ladders throughout the day
Why Little Blind Spot
Anyone can cover a window. We shape how homes are experienced — and our installers are central to that, not interchangeable labor. We're an established, busy shop: our team completes upwards of 40 installations a week across the Twin Cities, so there's a steady pipeline of work and real room to grow. You'll be trained in our standards, set up with the right tools, and trusted to own your craft. We've earned the trust of Twin Cities families across generations since 1978 by caring about the work, not rushing it out the door. If you want your craftsmanship to matter, you'll fit here.
