General Description:

To assist and support the Little Blessings Director to plan, assist with the curriculum,
develop, manage, grow and coordinate the programs and staff at Little Blessings.

● Work with Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool.
● Work with Director to oversee the day-to day operations of the extended day care program.
● Be present and assist the Director with administrative duties including emergency drills, severe weather
logs, and substitute teacher calls
● Assist Director with planning and conducting of fire, emergency and tornado drills
● Partner with Director to ensure compliance with DCFS licensing regulations and classroom ratios
● Work with Director to plan, coordinate and implement the staff development meetings and maintain in-
service logs
● Demonstrate initiative to grow the enrollment by conducting tours, and interact with current and
prospective families
● Provide support to Little Blessings staff
o Staff training
o Provide curricular ideas
o Provide class management ideas
● Plan and co-ordinate in-house field trips 1-2 per year and special events.
o Examples include but are not limited to: Book fairs, Lutheran School Week, Get to Know You Coffee, Day
With Dad
● Serve as Parent Volunteer Coordinator and assist with special programs (Christmas Toy Drive, parent
Conferences, Registration, Outreach, Picture Day)
● Troubleshoot teacher suggestions and special needs in the classrooms
● Partner with Director to establish and maintain staff files and training logs as required by state regulations.
● Promote the preschool in the congregation and community
● With Director, schedule staff birthday breakfasts, Christmas party, Teacher Appreciation Dinner, and other
hospitality events
● Purchase classroom, office and paper supplies within budget. Turn in receipts and packing slips to
director and maintain spending and quantity history in a database
o Seek approval from Director for purchases over $250.00
● Create Little Blessings bulletin board in main hallway and update with product recalls per DCFS guidelines
● Be present and assist during drop off and pick up

● Be present and assist with classroom emergencies
● Serve on LB Advisory Board as requested by the Director
● Learn basics to use ProCare software
● Read and sign acknowledgement of policies and procedures as stated in the Alleluia! Staff Handbook.

Student Recruitment and Admissions Responsibilities:
● Promote the preschool in the congregation and community
● With Director attend annual preschool fair at the Naperville Public Library
● Provide tours for parents of prospective students
● When requested, provide enrollment materials that reflect the philosophy of the preschool and meet state
regulations
● Provide promotional brochures and activities
● Help to develop a robust ongoing marketing campaign with the Director
● Follow-up regularly with potential new families

Public Relations and Communications Responsibilities:
● Ability to establish, cultivate and nurture high value relationships with the students, their
parents/guardians, Church staff, and congregation
● Act as backup to prepare parent newsletters, in absence of Director
● Support teachers when keeping parents informed of progress and special needs of their children
● Represent the preschool’s purpose and mission in all written communication
● Reply to communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours)
● Communicate with the congregation through all media re: Little Blessings\
● Partner with Director to influence leadership by providing recommendations for programmatic
improvements
● Demonstrate judgement and poise when presenting information and/or recommendations to parents, staff
and congregation
● Demonstrate discretion when dealing with confidential issues.
● Demonstrate effective emotional intelligence and intuition necessary to appropriately engage with multiple
personalities in a variety of environments
● Professional presence; verbal/written communication skills
● Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with staff, volunteers, and other congregation members
● Demonstrate poise and maturity when presenting information and recommendations

Analytic Skills:

● Ability to learn to track and manage the purchasing budget, in collaboration with the Director
● Support the Director, as requested, to manage Preschool budget
● Ability to use computer programs for reporting purposes


Reasoning Ability:
● Critical thinking that enables effective data review and ability to generate narrative observations, findings
and recommendations
● Ability to work independently and know when to seek guidance form leadership
● Assist the Director in execution of both strategy and tactical work
● Ability to anticipate problems and partner with leadership to determine the best course of action
● Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple
projects and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
● Demonstrates sound discretion and professional judgement in decision making

Spiritual Requirements:
● Demonstrate the mission, values and culture principles of Alleluia! Lutheran Church

Physical Requirements:
● Work outdoors during outdoor activities
● Ability to stand long hours
● Ability to bend, squat, and kneel to assist students with floor activities.
● Ability to use physical ability to lift students and perform other manipulations in order to assist students
with daily living skills
● Ability to push, pull lift or carry up to 50 lbs.


Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
● Meet all DCFS requirements for a Director Designate (21 hours of Early Child Development including 3
hours in ED administration)
● Bachelor’s Degree
● 3 years of experience in a preschool setting
● Must earn Food Service and Sanitation Manager Certification with 3 months of hire, and maintain through
employment tenure
● Must have a current TB test on file as required by regulations
● Valid CPR and first aid certification within a year of hire

All employees of Alleluia! Church are at-will, and as such, are free to resign any time without reason. Alleluia!
