Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate curricula that promote early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical development.
- Plan and execute daily activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and active learning tailored to various age groups including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively by applying positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Support children’s emotional well-being through attentive caregiving, effective communication, and fostering a sense of safety and belonging.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and individualized plans in compliance with licensing standards and educational best practices.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper supervision during activities and adherence to childcare regulations.
Experience
- Prior classroom or childcare experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education practices.
- Experience developing curriculum content that includes literacy education, math fundamentals, physical education, and Montessori or other specialized teaching methods.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement among diverse learners.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and external specialists.
- Experience with standardized testing procedures or assessments used to monitor early childhood progress is advantageous.
