Dependable and enthusiastic individuals who work as a team as Preschool Teachers and Teacher Assistants. The ideal candidates will support our mission to foster a safe, creative, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
Core ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Learning
- Implement Little Bees Lab Preschool Curriculum. A thoughtful and engaging program tailored to the developmental needs of preschool-aged children.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques such as storytelling, hands-on activities, educational play, music, and media.
- Support children in developing early academic concepts (e.g., colors, shapes, numbers) and practical life skills through a well-rounded curriculum application..
Social-Emotional Development
- Observe and support each child’s individual growth, promoting self-esteem, independence, and social competencies.
- Encourage positive peer interactions and help children navigate occasional conflicts respectfully and constructively.
Daily Routine & Supervision
- Organize and supervise daily routines, including nap time, meals/snacks, and transitions between activities.
- Maintain constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, following EEC’s Active Supervision requirements at all times.
- Practice “Name-to-Face” recognition and attendance checks throughout the day to ensure accurate child tracking and accountability.
- Keep classrooms clean, organized, and aligned with health and safety guidelines.
- Follow and model Safe Sleep practices as outlined by EEC regulations for infants and toddlers.
Family & Team Communication
- Communicate regularly and respectfully with families regarding their child’s development and classroom experiences.
- Uphold confidentiality regarding all children, families, staff, and program matters.
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to foster a respectful, team-oriented work environment.
- Assist in classrooms where needed, particularly when asked by a supervisor (applies to assistants and floaters).
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with peers and supervisors to meet classroom goals and uphold program values.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative spirit, especially during staff coverage and transitions.
- Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings, school community engagement events, professional development, and required training in compliance with EEC regulations.
Schedule & Flexibility Requirements
- Staff must be available during school open hours; final schedules will be determined based on program needs.
- Flexibility is essential. Staff may be asked to adjust their hours to ensure adequate classroom coverage.
- Adherence to scheduled break times is required to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Floating Assistants must be prepared for daily classroom reassignments and respond positively to changing needs.
- Attend monthly staff meetings (mandatory).
- Participate in at least three community engagement events annually that represent and support the mission of Little Bees Lab Preschool (e.g., community fairs, open houses, service initiatives, or town-sponsored events).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
