Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for children in preschool, toddler care, and infant care settings
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration
- Support children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices in accordance with health and safety standards
- Monitor and manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques to foster respectful interactions and good conduct
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, needs, and any concerns
- Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a structured yet flexible learning atmosphere
- Assist children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized support as needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar caregiving roles
- Proficiency in classroom management and behavior management techniques
- First aid certification and knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs in an inclusive setting
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and engage with parents or guardians
- Demonstrated patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for nurturing young learners
