What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Pastry Chef position at Little Barb's Bakery?
We are looking for a talented and experienced Baker to create a variety of delicious pastries and cakes. You will be responsible for creating original recipes and using mixing, kneading and shaping techniques to create new cheesecakes, pastries and cakes. As a Baker, your goal will be to develop delicious recipes using high quality ingredients, while maintaining our production level.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the process of baking to develop new products and recipes.
- Develop working knowledge of ingredients and production methods.
- Design and execute new product development programs.
- Properly manage inventory in accordance with production schedule.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workplace.
- Follow all safety and health procedures.
- Responsible for the quality of products produced.
- Analyze daily sales figures to find profitable items (e.g. pastries, cookies, cakes etc.).
- Work with chefs, kitchen staff and other bakers to improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment (e.g. equipment, tools etc.).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
