Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in all classes to maintain the proper ration, in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, fostering their growth and development in accordance with our educational philosophy. This role is essential in ensuring that students receive the attention and guidance they need to thrive academically and socially. The hours would be 6:15am-9:15am and 3pm-6pm.
Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote early childhood education principles.
- Support students in their learning, providing one-on-one assistance as needed, particularly in areas such as math and standardized testing preparation.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment that encourages child welfare and development.
- Observe and document student progress, behavior, and interactions to inform teaching strategies.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive learning community.
- Help prepare classroom materials and resources for lessons, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for all students.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool or early childhood education settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of Montessori principles or similar educational philosophies is a plus.
- Understanding of childhood development stages and the ability to apply this knowledge in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with standardized testing practices is beneficial but not required.
- A passion for education and commitment to fostering a positive learning experience for all students.
