Role Description The Lead Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Vancouver, WA. This position is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, child-led lessons and activities that support the growth of children ages 2.5 to 6. Day-to-day tasks include designing and adapting curriculum, preparing classroom materials, guiding small and large group activities, and observing and documenting children’s progress. The Lead Preschool Teacher will foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment, communicate regularly with families about student development, and collaborate with other staff members to ensure consistency in teaching practices. Additional responsibilities include supporting classroom routines, maintaining licensing and safety standards, and participating in team meetings and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education, including knowledge of child development and best practices for preschool and kindergarten readiness.
  • Demonstrated ability in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development for children ages 2.5 to 6.
  • Effective Communication skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience supporting Kindergarten readiness skills through play-based and child-led learning.
  • Relevant education or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field (e.g., CDA, associate or bachelor’s degree).
  • Previous experience as a preschool or early elementary teacher, lead teacher, or similar role.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, organized classroom and adhere to state licensing and health regulations.
  • Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and a supportive learning environment for all children.
