What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electroplater (Weekend Shift) position at LITRON LLC?
Litron, located in Agawam, MA, is looking for a experienced weekend shift Electroplater to join our team! Hours for this role are Friday-Sunday, 6:00am-6:30pm. Work 36 hours but get paid for 40!
An employee in this role will perform various plating operations as directed by the Plating Manager. Electroplaters typically provide assistance necessary to maintain efficient operations and product quality by performing maintenance operations in the plating department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To make it understood that “the Customer is our first priority”.
- To carry out the daily work schedule duties for the Plating Department.
- To maintain process tank solution levels, proper pH, and temperatures.
- To perform all racking and plating operations as necessary.
- To perform all chemical tank maintenance procedures as necessary.
- To perform chemical analyses on wastewater effluent.
- To start up and shut down all equipment in the plating room as necessary.
- To monitor wastewater treatment area as necessary.
- To maintain a clean working environment.
- To adhere to company policies as described in the employee handbook.
- To keep the Plating Manager informed of any issue that may have an adverse affect on the well being of the company.
- Attend meetings as necessary.
- Any other duties or tasks assigned by the Plating Manager.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to interact with employees.
- Ability to learn all plating operations performed at the company.
- Ability to learn chemical analyses on plating solutions if necessary.
- Ability to perform all relevant maintenance operations required in the plating area.
- Ability to work extra hours including weekends as necessary.
- Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize a computer and associated software.
- Ability to obtain a Massachusetts industrial wastewater treatment license if necessary.
- Ability to stand for prolonged period of time, occasionally bending, reaching, or crouching.
- Full range of body movements including fine motor control/dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Specific vision ability to have natural or corrected vision including close object & depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work with a microscope for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds with regularity.
